John Poole, one of the co-founders of Primate Labs (the company behind the famous Geekbench benchmark platform), has revealed that Xiaomi has been cheating in its performance tests , all in order to show a score above the real one.
To prove it, John Poole ran Geekbench on the Xiaomi Mi 11 in such a way that it would be recognized as Fortnite and thus go unnoticed by the different MIUI algorithms and lines of code. The result? quite controversial...
They discover Xiaomi cheating to show better performance than real
As we can see in the following image provided by the founder of the company behind Geekbench, the Xiaomi Mi 11 shows a totally different performance by running a test in a traditional way than if it is done by posing as another application (in this case by the Fortnite).
The Xiaomi Mi 11 offers a single core score of 1,129 points and a multicore score of 3,714 points if we run the test with the Geekbench application. In contrast, the version modified in order to go unnoticed showed 30% less performance in single core (791 points) and 16% less in multicore (3,125 points).

It should be noted that this smartphone model was released a little over a year ago, so it is unknown if Xiaomi has been doing the same in its latest devices . We will have to wait for Xiaomi to make an official statement.
