{Disarmed} The Xiaomi CyberDog for a walk: walk, jump and even dance
The CyberDog is Xiaomi's robot dog. It can only be obtained in China. It has a price of approximately 1,300 euros to change and is only sold to developers , since the brand itself states that it is a prototype. On the occasion of the Mobile World Congress in 2022 we have been able to see it in action and this is all it does.
Get up, dance and even dance
One of the things that surprised us the most about the CyberDog is the agility it has to get up , walk and even dance. It must be made clear that we saw a decaf version of the CyberDog, since the ring that was destined for it was big enough to make samples, but not enough to see it walk many meters.
On the front we find a multitude of sensors and cameras, being able to transmit live images up to 1080p , which makes it very useful even to be able to manage it remotely or even use it as an additional security measure.
It is made of plastic and metal, which makes it quite light, specifically weighing 3 kg . The battery that it incorporates is 5,000 mAh , which makes its autonomy approximately one hour in operation.
The maximum speed of the CyberDog is 11 kilometers per hour, although this time we saw it limited to 3 km / h . It folds in a very simple way automatically, making transporting it very easy, in fact, the brand itself transported it in a suitcase.
All control in one remote
With you, the control of the Xiaomi CyberDog. It really is an app for the smartphone connected to a controller. In this we can see that he can get up, roll over, wave, dance, turn, wave and, finally, sit down.
The truth is that it moves in a very agile way, it is striking that it can get up on its own in the event that it falls and remains on its back.
If we focus on the control, this is very similar to that of a drone, or even a radio-controlled car, one joystick is for the direction and another to be able to choose the direction in which we want the dog to move.
New versions are on the way
Bearing in mind that it corresponds to a first version, this has left us with quite a good taste in our mouths despite not being able to see him doing a backflip .
In any case, there is still a long way to go, although that does not mean that this has been a risky leap that goes beyond the smartphone world. We look forward to how developers can adapt the CyberDog for new uses.
