Xiaomi 12: Galaxy S22 alternative will not be cheap

Now that Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S22 and is launching it soon, one wonders where the Xiaomi 12 is going. It was presented in China a few weeks ago, but the market launch in Germany is still a long way off. Now the first prices in euros for the Xiaomi 12 have appeared and it shows again that the top smartphones are not as cheap as you are used to from previous generations.

Xiaomi 12 costs up to 1,200 euros

Shortly after Christmas 2021, Xiaomi presented its new high-end smartphones Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro in China. Since then we have been waiting patiently for the performance in Germany. While Xiaomi is still holding back on this point, the first prices in euros for the new smartphones are appearing . As a reminder, in China the Xiaomi 12 costs the equivalent of around 500 euros. Of course, it won't be that cheap with us (source: MySmartPrice).

The Xiaomi 12 should be available at a price of 800 euros or more. You should get the version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. If you want double the memory, you have to pay 900 euros. Xiaomi would charge twice as much as Samsung for the Galaxy S22 for doubling the memory at 100 euros. There, the upgrade costs only 50 euros.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro is even more expensive. There is 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage for a price of 1,000 euros . But there should also be a configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Up to 1,200 euros should then be required for this. With the Xiaomi 12X, the Chinese company wants to offer a cheaper alternative at prices starting at 600 euros. There is also a version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Doubling the internal memory again costs 100 euros.
