{Disarmed} This is how I managed to make the mail not fill Google s storage
I admit it . I am that person who opens all the emails that come in on a daily basis (and they are not exactly few), so far, fine. The problem comes when you don't delete them and if you receive a multitude of emails with files every day, they end up eating little by little the 15 GB that Google offers you for free. Today I am going to tell you how I am managing to clean the mail in a very simple way.
First of all, you should know that this trick is useful both for the many newsletters you subscribe to and that you barely read , if not half, and for when you have recurring emails from certain contacts.
In my case, my mail is infested with press releases, announcements, newsletters and notifications from different services . Even though I probably still have a lot of emails left that could be deleted, most of them end up in the trash.
Keep in mind that there are many ways to organize, it is something very personal, I know people who do it by folders, by tags , but in this case I share how my experience has been.
Cleanfox, the panacea to get rid of emails
Cleanfox is an app that you can download completely free of charge from the Google Play Store and that is quite respectful of privacy , which is a big plus, considering that it may contain sensitive information.
Once you download the app, you must log in with your Google account and give it permissions. Then the app will take care of analyzing our email to analyze those users who send us the most emails and also identify the newsletters. This process will take more or less depending on the number of emails you have.
When it has finished analyzing your email, you will get a notification on your mobile. Later, when you open Cleanfox, you will see that a kind of Tinder appears, but this time with emails.
If you scroll to the left you will unsubscribe from said newsletter , if you slide up you will delete the emails from said contact and, finally, if you want to keep it, you just have to slide to the right.
It's not something you have to do every day, I do it once a month to keep the mail clean . In addition, one of the sections that I liked the most about the application is that you can see different statistics.
Finally, you should know that even though you have deleted the emails in Cleanfox, the process is not immediate, but rather takes a few hours to become effective.
It is a tool that I find really useful at a time when we store more and more files in the Google account , from WhatsApp backups , to documents and files in Google Drive.
To finish, many times I filter by the size of the email, and eliminating those that exceed a certain KB , so that in this way we can eliminate in a relatively simple way those emails that take up more space .
