{Disarmed} Samsung Galaxy S22+ Teardown [Video]
A new video posted by the PBKreviews YouTube channel shows the teardown of the Samsung Galaxy S22+. The same channel had already published the endurance tests for the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Ultra in the past few days.
After removing the adhesive from the back, you can remove the camera bump and lenses along with the back panel as a single component. And then things can continue on the inside.
After removing 19 screws and the NFC and wireless charging coils, one can see the inner workings of the phone. After disconnecting the battery cables, the main circuit board can be removed. A look at the camera assemblies shows that only the wide-angle and telephoto cameras are optically stabilized, the ultra-wide-angle camera does not have this feature.
The top and bottom speaker assemblies are removed. The lower speaker assembly contains the vibration motor. To access the haptic motor, the speaker assembly must be disassembled.
After removing the daughterboards, the battery is removed with isopropyl alcohol to loosen the adhesive since there are no pull tabs. From here some auxiliary antennas are now visible. These antennas are built into smartphone models compatible with mmWave 5G signals.
Finally, the process of disassembling the screen is simpler than previous generations. After heating the display, the AMOLED panel is detached from the frame with a plastic tool. There is no flexible cable from the display to the frame, the display connector sits directly on top of the capture connector so the connection only needs to be clicked in during installation.
