Amazon: New ANC headphones make AirPods Pro look old

Amazon has introduced the second generation of its Echo Buds for the German market. The TWS Earbuds have active noise cancellation and integrated Alexa. A trick was copied from Apple's AirPods Pro, although the Echo Buds 2 are still cheaper.

Amazon Echo Buds 2 are coming to Germany

The Echo Buds 2 have been available in the USA for some time, and now they are also appearing in this country. The competitor to the AirPods from Apple has, among other things, active noise cancellation (ANC) so that disturbing noises from outside do not reduce the enjoyment of music. In addition, as with the AirPods Pro, a ventilation system is available. This reduces the uncomfortable pressure in the ear when the earbuds fit snugly. Despite this special feature, the price is still reasonable.

As well as ANC, the Echos Buds 2 also have a transparency mode , which is basically the opposite of noise cancellation. If this mode is activated, external noise can be directed into the ear. In this way, a discussion can be followed or an announcement on the train can be overheard.

According to Amazon, both treble and bass sound better on the second generation of the earbus. In addition, three microphones are now included to make telephony more comfortable. The manufacturer specifies the battery life as five hours if ANC is activated (source: Amazon). If Alexa is also switched off, the runtime increases to 6.5 hours. The charging case provides another ten hours of music and podcasts. 15 minutes of charging should be enough for two hours of running time.
