Alternative to the Galaxy S22: China manufacturer is launching an attack
A new flagship from China is just around the corner: With the Honor Magic 4, an interesting competitor to the Galaxy S22 from Samsung should arise. Equipped with a top processor, the first benchmark results are impressive in a direct comparison.
Honor Magic 4: Presentation confirmed on February 28th
The former Huawei subsidiary Honor has big plans. As an independent brand, it is not affected by Huawei's US sanctions and can go to great lengths when it comes to hardware and software. This is noticeable in the upcoming Magic 4 flagship. Now Honor CEO George Zhao has confirmed that the phone is expected to be released on February 28, 2022. As part of the Mobile World Congress, the Magic 4 will not only be shown, but also published.
Beforehand, the Honor Magic 4 drew attention to itself with strong benchmark results . In Geekbench, the cell phone even got a slightly better result than the Galaxy S22 Ultra from Samsung (source: GSMArena). As always, early benchmarks should be treated with caution. Actual performance is yet to be assessed.
The fact that the Magic 4 certainly doesn't need to hide from the Galaxy S22 series is shown by the choice of processor. Here, the Chinese manufacturer relies on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which is currently considered the best Android processor . With Android itself, Honor can offer its customers Google apps and services without any problems, unlike Huawei.

Honor Magic 4: Probably two models planned
According to rumors, Honor would also like to present one with Dimensity 9000 in addition to the variant with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. This suggests that another model is planned in addition to the Magic 4. The manufacturer has not yet confirmed whether the cell phones will be marketed as Magic 4 at all. The number may simply be skipped and the smartphones released as the Magic 5 series.
