How to update Xiaomi applications to their latest version
If you have a Xiaomi , Redmi or Poco phone , then you already know that with Miui we will find a significant number of native applications that are already factory installed on our device. These apps have the characteristic that they have their own rate of updates, very independent of the apps that we download from the Google Play Store .
In this tutorial, we will show you two methods, with which you can update the applications on your own and you are always with the latest news .
How to update the applications from the phone system?
In Miui's own customization layer, we have an option similar to the Google Play Store, through which we can update the applications in a special section. To access it, we must:
- Enter phone Settings
- Click on the "System application updater" section
- Once inside, click now on Update the applications you want or update everything at the bottom
Once this is done, we can see, on the one hand, all the updates that are available for each of the apps included in our Xiaomi. In the event that there is no update, we will not have to do anything.
In the event that you want to know what the most recent updates have been , then we simply have to click on "Update history", which is at the bottom, to know them.
It is important to note this method, as all native Miui applications will appear in this section ; something that would not happen if we simply went in and made the updates from the Google Play Store.
Why does this happen? Well, because many of the apps that we have on our Xiaomi device cannot be found in the Google Play Store , so it is normal that there is no update for them on the platform.

How to update the applications from the Google Play Store?
As we know, the Google Play Store is the application platform that is included in Android smartphones. Recently, in what corresponds to one of its latest updates, it modified its interface for a much simpler one. Although this has several advantages, it has a problem: it has left the update area somewhat more hidden . That is why, in this second part of the tutorial, we tell you how to update your Xiaomi apps from the Google Play Store .
Actually, Google Play Store should notify us when there are available updates of the apps that we have installed on our device. When this happens, we just have to click on the notification and allow the download of the update. Unfortunately, these types of updates rarely appear , so the best option we have is to update all the apps manually from time to time. The good news is that it is a quick and easy method. To do this, simply perform the following steps:
- Enter the Google Play Store app on your Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco phone.
- In the upper left section, enter your profile .
- Locate the section " Manage apps and device" which is the first option and click on it.
- Two windows will appear at the top, click to manage
- A menu with the legend of " Available updates " will be displayed , where we find, in turn, two options: " Update all ", through which all of our Xiaomi apps will be updated directly; or, " See details or update individually ", where you can choose to update only the apps on your device that you want .
- Another option is to click on your profile icon and go to Settings> Network preferences> Automatic update of apps ; With what our Xiaomi apps will be updated periodically automatically if you select Wifi (recommended).
Do not forget that keeping the apps on your phone updated is essential to avoid errors and keep us abreast of news; it will even help maintain an optimal level of security .
