Pixel 6 (Pro): Google makes a small confession
Google has introduced really good Android smartphones with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, but there are also some problems that the company now has to solve. A promise can no longer be fulfilled, so Google now has to make a small admission with regard to the loading speed.
Google admits: Pixel 6 smartphones don't reach 30 watts
Most Android smartphones can be fully charged in no time. Pixel 6 smartphones are not one of them. Although Google says that the smartphones have a 30-watt quick charge function, the devices with a 30-watt power supply only charge with a fraction of the power. That was recently investigated and now Google has admitted that the 30 watts are not reached (source: Google).
In a very long post, Google explains in detail why the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro cannot be charged so quickly. There you explain exactly what is important to Google, but at the same time admits that the maximum charging power of the Pixel 6 is 21 watts and the Pixel 6 Pro is 23 watts per cable .
Google has caused the problems for itself. Although they state that they support a 30-watt quick charge function in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, they do not achieve this. It is even correctly stated that it takes 30 minutes to reach 50 percent charging capacity . But then the charging speed collapses so massively that it takes another 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach the remaining 50 percent.
You can't change anything about that, because the battery is installed as it is installed. In the end, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro also charge in the time that Google stated, namely 50 percent in 30 minutes. But the 30 watts have aroused expectations that cannot be met and Google is now conceding that with concrete figures.
We'll tell you what else the Google Pixel 6 can do in the video :
Google makes the Pixel 6 (Pro) fingerprint sensor better
The second construction site of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is the fingerprint sensor. After Google initially said that it was working slowly because it was so safe , a software update has now been rolled out. This should make the fingerprint sensor work faster. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to try it out yet, the update has not yet been released in Germany.
