Samsung Galaxy Watch 4: Smartwatch owners have been waiting for this app
With the Galaxy Watch 4, Samsung has dared to make a radical new start and is now relying on Wear OS 3 instead of Tizen. The change in operating systems did not only bring advantages: A popular Tizen app did not make the leap to the new smartwatch. That is changing now.
In the test of the Galaxy Watch 4, the Samsung Smartwatch left a mixed picture. Hardware and choice of materials were excellent and were convincing, but there was still some catching up to do with the software. The electronics manufacturer has now taken at least one small step in the right direction.
Samsung brings internet browser to Galaxy Watch 4
With "Samsung Internet" the South Koreans bring their web browser to the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (source: SamMobile). The name says it all: Owners of the respective smartwatches can use the smart app to view websites directly on their wrist.
Samsung Internet has been one of the most popular apps on Samsung smartwatches for years, but was not available when switching from Tizen to Wear OS 3 . Now the industry leader has eliminated this disadvantage and thus provides another argument why you should go straight to the models with Wear OS 3 when buying a new Samsung smartwatch.
We show in the video which functions the Galaxy Watch 4 offers:
Small smartwatch display limits the range of functions
Of course , the small smartwatch display limits the usefulness of a browser . The displays of the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy 4 Classic measure just 1.4 inches diagonally in the largest case variant. Long browsing is therefore difficult on the wrist.
Nevertheless , such a browser can be very useful , for example to do a quick Google search or to look up something else. With a suitable gesture control, Samsung also tries to make navigation within websites as comfortable as possible. If you want to try Samsung Internet, you can find the app in the Play Store on your Galaxy Watch 4.
