iPhone 14: Apple wants to stick to proven technology
The iPhone 13 is only "old" a few weeks, but the successor is appearing in more and more reports from the rumor mill. The latest report from the iPhone 14 causes confusion, because contrary to previous prophecies, the Apple cell phone will still stick to the notch next year.
Actually, it was considered to have been agreed: In 2022, the iPhone 14 will put the notch (display notch) known since the iPhone X to the files and use a so-called "punch-hole design", ie a small camera hole. This "plan" does not seem to work, because the latest rumors from China now say exactly the opposite.
iPhone 14 still with (smaller) notch
Instead of a camera hole , Apple should therefore still use a notch in the display on the iPhone 14 . However, this should be a bit smaller (source: MacRumors). To classify: The iPhone 13 has a notch that has been reduced by 20 percent. For this purpose, Apple has reduced the size of the components of the TrueDepth camera system and revised the internal components. The earpiece was also moved to the upper edge of the housing. This creates space.
Our readers will have to wait even longer for an iPhone like the one in the video :
Most likely there is also no fingerprint sensor (Touch ID) under the display of the iPhone 14, even the well-known Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo recently reported this. In this respect, Face ID remains the only biometric security method, thanks to the notch that is still present with the corresponding sensors . A touch ID sensor in the power button, as in the iPad Air and iPad mini 6, would be desirable, but currently rather out of the question.
Apple's design revolution is shifting
In summary: the iPhone 14 could end up being more similar to an iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 than previously thought . After all, one of the most important recognition features of the iPhone so far - the notch - still remains in the Apple cell phone. It is quite possible that the design revolution has been postponed again and will have to wait.
