The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are slowly arriving with pre-orderers, and the first problems are already appearing. Many owners of the new Pixel models have complained on Reddit about a strange display flicker that occurs when they press the power button while their devices are turned off. Judging by the number of reports, this problem is more widespread than Google should like.

Discussions on this topic are rampant across both the Pixel 6 and Google Pixel subreddits, and many owners are speaking out to say their devices are also affected. It looks like more reports are coming in from Pixel 6 Pro owners. In any case, most people experience the flickering display problem when their phone is completely turned off and they repeatedly press the power button briefly.

It is speculated that the flicker could be related to the static discharge released when the button is pressed. Further discussion revolves around how serious the problem is and whether it is worth shipping the devices back to the manufacturer as the display flickering doesn't seem to affect other functions - until now. Since it is not clear what exactly is causing this problem, it is possible that there will be long-term effects.

Another problem that has been encountered is a green cast on the Pixel 6's display. It's not an uncommon problem with OLED panels, many brands have seen it, including Google (on the Pixel 4 XL and 5a before).
