Allegro presents Allegro Pay. Start on July 31

Allegro Pay will be a new form of payment for purchases. The novelty will be implemented on July 31, but this is not the end of changes on the platform. Allegro also raises commissions for sales in certain categories .

With Google Pay and Apple Pay we pay in physical stores, as well as when shopping online. Lidl Pay , Orlen Pay and Żappka Pay are, in turn, specialized payment methods operating only at points of a given network.

How will Allegro Pay be? We don't know the answer to this question yet, but we can guess it. Allegro quite economically dispenses information on the new payment standard, but the service officially confirmed that the new product will be available on July 31, initially for a selected group of buyers.

Officially, Allegro Pay is to supplement existing payment methods, but in practice it may replace one of them. For some time rumors have been returning that Allegro intends to give up PayU, perhaps in favor of a proprietary solution.

Commissions on Allegro are changing. It will be more expensive.

There is little information about Allegro Pay, but we know everything about commission. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find positives here. From July 31 in the regulations we will find a provision for higher commission rates for sellers in the departments Child, Electronics, Home and Garden, Company and services, Collections and art, Sport and tourism, Culture and entertainment and Beauty.

The full list of changes can be found on the Allegro website , and the whole thing will not appeal to sellers. For example, in the Furniture category in the Home and Garden and Children sections, the maximum commission value increases for PLN 100 to PLN 200. In the Electronics department in all subcategories called Other and with accessories in the Electronics department the commission will be 12 percent. for items up to PLN 50. Currently, the commission ranges from 2 to 10 percent.

We also see a lot of small increases, e.g. from 11 to 12% This is the case with baby accessories from the Feeding and Occasions categories, parties or lighting from the Home and Garden department. At other times, commissions are growing stronger, such as the sale of prams and child seats, where we will have to give Allegro not 8, but 12 percent. transaction value.

The list of changes includes several dozen items, which in some categories will strongly hit sellers. There are, however, isolated instances of commission reduction. This is the case, for example, in the Handmade items category from the Collections and art section. The commission drops from a shocking 15 percent. at 10%

All changes described in the text will come into force on July 31.
