Smartphone market share Q1 2020: this is the distribution
The figures for the distribution of the individual smartphone manufacturers from the 1st quarter of 2020 are available . And that's how it looks, actually no big changes can be seen.
The smartphone industry was hit hard by the corona crisis. In Q1, the numbers dropped 22 percent in China and 13 percent in Europe. Just 66 million devices were sold in the first 3 months of the year. For comparison, there were 121 million smartphones in the first quarter of 2018.
As always, we find Samsung in first place in the ranking, the South Korean manufacturer has 20 percent. In principle, it remains stable, as there have been only minor deviations in recent years.
Huawei can still be found in second place, despite the embargo that has existed for over 1 year. You get a good 17 percent market share, which is surprising in the current situation.
We are still in third place with 14 percent market share. Unsurprisingly, things went a little downhill. But that's because the manufacturer only presents new iPhones once a year. And that's why you're always better positioned in the Christmas quarter.
And the rest? 49 percent are still left, these are largely occupied by Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Realme. The proportion of "other" manufacturers has steadily decreased. Only 22 percent probably share a number of other smartphone manufacturers.
