Samsung dims in the corner - official photos and the first Samsung Galaxy S10 wallpaper
There is no last day without new information about the Samsung Galaxy S10. Or there are new pics of one of the three Galaxy S10 variants, or information about prices is leaked, or the official wallpaper. Today is wallpaper. And photos.
The new Samsung from the Galaxy S family will hit the market in three versions:
- Samsung Galaxy S10e (lowest, smallest and cheapest version),
- Samsung Galaxy S10 (basic version with a single camera at the front),
- Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus (top version with a dual camera at the front).
Almost all technical specifications of all three variants are no longer confidential . This information has been leaked many times and it can be assumed that the majority will be confirmed during the official premiere.
Their appearance was also well known to us. But now he was additionally confirmed by Evan Blass - a proven twitter informer who is regularly a source of leakage of pre-release information in the mobile industry.
According to Evan, Samsung Galaxy S10 will look like:
Yes Galaxy S10e:
And so Galaxy S10 Plus:
The wallpaper you see on the first two graphics has been shared on the UniverseIce Twitter :
So now you can download it and see how it will look on your smartphones. And it will look rather unusually, because Samsung created new wallpapers mainly with one thought - to hide the main distinguishing feature of new models, i.e. a hole in the screen.
Wallpapers are especially dark in the corner, in which the manufacturer decided to cut a hole for the camera.
Samsung, are you ashamed?
It seems that Samsung is a bit ashamed of what he did. And I think that there is absolutely nothing.
When in November Samsung organized a conference, during which he presented the world with a prototype of a folded smartphone, the company boasted something else - four types of screens that it intends to use in the future . They were:
- Infinity-U - U-shaped notch,
- Infinity-V - notch in the shape similar to the letter V,
- Infinity-O - O-shaped notch,
- New Infinity - screen without any indents.
I watched the conference carefully. The presentation was filled with pride and self-confidence. Although there were no memos to remember about the biggest competitor (Apple / iPhone), it was felt that Samsung clearly shows us something he wants to say: "See? We did it better. " I remember it so.

Today? And today, Samsung shows models with holes in the screens and does everything to hide them. Applies fancy wallpapers that darken in one or the other corner.
Example? Samsung Galaxy A8S has a hole in the upper left corner, so in this corner the wallpaper is darker:
Whereas the Galaxy S10 (here in the Plus version) has an indent on the right side, so the right upper corner is the one in which the wallpaper suddenly becomes dark:
It's a bit weird that actually the only element that today's smartphones can stand out in front of the competition is what the producers are trying to hide.
Yes, producers - because Samsung is not alone.
The example goes from above - Apple does that too
When Apple showed the iPhone X - the first of its smartphone with an indentation in the screen, the company was not ashamed. On the contrary - the default set of bright and colorful wallpaper exhibited notch, and on the box the manufacturer did not use tricks to hide it. Nay! Apple advised application developers to create their own programs so that the black bar on the top of the screen would not try to mask the presence of the indentation.
Apple has been tough on these principles until ... the release of the next iPhone.
The wallpaper in the XS and XS Max models effectively hides the presence of the notch. Also on the photo, which is shown on the box, you can not see the indentation. Such a good wallpaper Apple has chosen.
Looking at what Apple now does, Samsung's sins are very light and will probably be forgiven quickly. Certainly faster than I understand why the producers decided to hide the characteristic elements of the design of their products.
