Lei Jun, general manager of Xiaomi, informed fans through Chinese Weibo social network that Xiaomi Group acquired 65 168 803 shares of TCL. The newly acquired share constitutes 0.48% of the share capital. According to Xiaomi's CEO, investing in the TCL brand will improve the position of Xiaomi in the area of household appliances, mainly TVs.
Xiaomi Group has bought a TCL campaign which TVs are placed in Poland
Xiaomi intends to use this "cooperation" not only financially, the companies have concluded a contract with each other. TCL has decided to help in the creation of new products, make patents available and ensure the production of equipment on a massive scale. Over time, Xiaomi TVs can be installed in the Polish factory TCL, which is located in Żyrardów.
Negotiations between companies lasted for months, and only this week good information was passed to the public. A few months ago I reported that in 2019 Xiaomi TVs will go to Europe. I think it will be better for Xiaomi to produce them in Europe than to import from Asia. It is too big and delicate product. In addition, the TCL Group owns two well-known Blackberry and Alcatel brands.
