More expensive than expected: Price of OnePlus first Android tablet leaked

With the OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus is bringing its current high-end smartphone to Germany in a few days. Will there be more to see on the date than just the smartphone? All relevant technical data of the OnePlus Pad have been leaked – including the price. At first glance, the Chinese manufacturer's first Android tablet looks a bit expensive.

OnePlus Pad: Many details about the Android tablet leaked

OnePlus has long been rumored to be developing an Android tablet and launching it soon. A leaker has now not only published the technical data, but also a price. This should be 2,999 yuan (source: Shadow_Leak), which is about 430 euros. That's the Chinese price, mind you. In Germany we probably have to reckon with at least 30 percent more . With luck we would land at 550 euros. What do we get for it?

The hardware isn't that up to date. If the leak is to be believed, the OnePlus Pad will be equipped with a Snapdragon 865 that is several years old . This is the predecessor of the predecessor of the current high-end processor. Sure, the performance should still be sufficient, but how long will there be drivers for it? This could have a negative impact on update availability. After all, we are talking about a processor from the end of 2019.

Except for the processor, the equipment sounds promising. A 12.4-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution is said to be used. Whether it supports 90 or 120 Hz is not known. There is 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. A 13 MP dual rear camera, an 8 MP front camera, a large 10,090 mAh battery that can be quickly charged at 45 watts, Android 12 as the operating system, a fingerprint sensor on the side and a 3.5 mm jack socket. 5G is available as an option.

What the OnePlus 10 Pro can do:

OnePlus Pad back in China first?

OnePlus unveiled and launched the OnePlus 10 Pro in China in January. The performance in Germany will not take place until the end of March. That's almost a four month wait. Let's hope that the OnePlus Pad doesn't show up in China and get to us many months later - if at all.
