OnePlus' affordable Buds Z wireless earbuds made their debut in late 2020 and offered great performance at a fairly low price. Now render images of the supposed second generation of Buds with the name OnePlus Buds Z2 have appeared.

The leaked images are supposedly based on real images. Just like the original Buds Z, the Buds Z2 could have a no-frills design with a pill-shaped case. If you look closer, the Buds Z2 still have the stem, but the earplugs are a little different.

The new design is intended to ensure a lighter and safer seat. There are other sensors inside the earbuds, but it's unclear what additional functions they offer. The automatic detection of the auricle will probably be included again.

In the meantime, the case seems to have been almost completely taken over from the OnePlus Buds Z. It has a power indicator on the front and a USB-C charging port on the back.

No technical data is currently known, but there are rumors of a possible launch date. The OnePlus Buds Z2 are likely to hit the market in October alongside the OnePlus 9RT.
