This operator is blocking the Dual SIM tray of the Xiaomi Mi 10T with glue
Unfortunately ... that's the only word we can think of to describe what the Telcel operator is supposedly doing. A totally reprehensible act that goes far beyond the imagination of many .
And it is that, as they have let us know, the Mexican telecommunications company has proposed, under any measure, that its users who buy the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro cannot use more than one SIM card and to be able to be, of themselves.
As many of you know, the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro has Dual SIM support , a very useful functionality that Telcel not only blocks through software, but also physically blocks in the most crawling way that we could have seen.
And it is that, as we can see in the images, Telcel presumably adds a plastic attached with glue to the second slot of the Dual SIM tray of the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro. A quite primitive way to prevent us from using more than one SIM card. As user Foxhoundelta informs us:
For anyone from Mexico, if they buy the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro with Telcel and they tell them that it is supposedly not dual SIM, ignore them.
The equipment is totally dual SIM, the tray where the chip is inserted has the second compartment covered with plastic and glue , it is only removed and can be used, unfortunately you have to change the ROM (which in fact is a mess because of the bloatware) because it blocks the use of this.
In short, an action above all regrettable , which as we said, Telcel is allegedly being carried out with all the latest Xiaomi smartphones that have Dual SIM support.
For our part, we will contact Telcel to clarify this situation. We will keep you informed with any information in this regard.

ATT Mexico is doing the same thing to the Redmi Note 9 M2003j15SS , removing the plastic does let you put another SIM, but its also locked by the ROM, so I will try and use the GLOBAL Rom, and see if that works.
