Expanding its sensor catalog, Xiaomi today announced its new flood detector , a small gadget compatible with its Mi Home ecosystem that will be able to alert us in case of detecting a water leak in our home.

In detail, it is the new Xiaomi Mi Flood Guard , Xiaomi's alternative to the Aqara flood sensor, which allows it to be fixed in bathrooms and kitchens in order to detect any water spill as a symptom of a possible flood caused by a leak of Water.

In itself, this sensor is connected to the Xiaomi gateway, allowing the creation of various automation scenarios according to its status . For example, if a water leak is detected, we can have it warned by a notification, a light is turned on or the alarm begins to sound.
