The old iPad is great, but Apple knows how to tempt with new products. New cheap iPads are coming

Two brand new iPads, both cheaper ones. With new processors and new screens with a diagonal of 10.8 and about 9 inches. Analysts paint this picture of Apple's prime ministers, indicating that Apple knows how to get money from customers.

The iPad is a device that I recommend to everyone. You don't know that you need it until you buy it. For the past two years, the cheapest iPad has been in my living room and has been working great today. This is no exception, and even more so, because satisfied users use even five-year-old iPads, which lack nothing.

Apple has made the product so good that it doesn't make much sense to replace it with a newer model. Each reasonably modern iPad works great, as we talked about in our film.

The iPad is certainly not necessary, but when it is, it works perfectly at home. For me, it plays the role of a computer in the living room and kitchen. I cook pancakes with him while watching Złomnik, read news to the morning porridge, browse the internet when something is flying on the TV in the background, I shop on Allegro, because I try to go out as rarely as possible, order food, because how much can you stand in the kitchen. Everything can be done from a smartphone, but at the same time these activities are incomparably more pleasant on the iPad.

Years are flying, the iPad is working. However, Apple has an idea how to encourage the transition to a newer model.

The first cheap and good iPad was the fifth generation iPad of 2017. At the time of release, this equipment was really well priced. The newer model from 2018 - the iPad 6, which I use bravely - brought stylus support and a newer processor. Switching to the newer model from the iPad 5 did not make much sense. The processor in the iPad is secondary, and if someone wanted to use the stylus, you probably had an iPad Air or Pro for a long time.

In 2019, the iPad 7 appeared, at which I thought about switching for the first time. The iPad 7 maintains a low price, but has a larger screen (10.2 inches) and is equipped with a Smart Connector for connecting and powering keyboards integrated with the covers. The size difference in the screen was not particularly significant, and I rarely use the keyboard, so I quickly abandoned the thought of switching to a newer model. After all, my iPad works great.

The new cheap iPad is set to be a big step forward.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an almost infallible analyst predicting (knowing in advance?) Apple's moves, announces the premiere of the new cheap iPad. This time the equipment will have a 10.8-inch screen and a newer Apple A12 processor, which debuted with the iPhone XS. The iPad 10.2 uses a fairly old A10 processor known from the iPhone 7.

The new screen size is puzzling. Three scenarios are possible: a larger screen in the same housing, a completely new housing, an iPad Pro housing with thicker frames.

In the case of cheap equipment, the first option sounds the most reasonable. A larger screen in the same housing would not be a big challenge, but will 10.8 inches fit while maintaining its physical size? Let's remember that the iPad Air has the same housing and 10.5-inch screen, and its side frames are really narrow, so I'm not sure if they will be able to slim down even more.

I don't believe in a completely new housing. Apple is not a company that designs new enclosures for cheap devices. If something is to be cheap and have the Apple logo, you should rather focus on recycling existing parts.

The third option sounds best. Perhaps Apple is finally going to abandon the old case with the Touch ID button in favor of the newer known from the iPad Pro. The smaller iPad Pro has an 11-inch screen, so the cheaper iPad 2020 with a 10.8-inch screen would simply have slightly thicker frames. We have already seen a similar procedure with the current iPad Air and the cheap iPad 2019.

The new housing and Face ID on the cheap iPad sound great, but ... just too good. It is true that it's been two years since the release of this housing, but it's hard to expect that Apple would introduce radical changes in a cheap device, while maintaining a low price.

There will also be a new iPad Mini, although not so mini.

Ming-Chi Kuo claims that at the beginning of next year there will also be a new iPad Mini with a screen size between 8.5 and 9 inches. The current generation of the iPad Mini has a 7.9-inch screen and looks very archaic with its frames.

And although my iPad lacks nothing, if Apple actually showed the 2020 model with a much larger screen and modern frames straight from the iPad Pro ... for the first time I would feel the incentive to replace the equipment.
