The good news is that repairing the iPhone SE (2020) will be much simpler and cheaper than the other Apple phones still on offer - especially in the event of a screen break. The device released this month fits a surprisingly large number of parts that were used to manufacture the iPhone 8 from 2017.

According to the iFixit website, the new Apple phone can be fitted with both an iPhone 8 SIM card slot, as well as a haptic motor and the whole front, i.e. a screen with a microphone and a proximity sensor originally used to manufacture the phone from three years ago . In addition, the iPhone SE (2020) is compatible with cameras from the previous 4.7-inch Apple phone.

Unfortunately, the same rumors were not confirmed that in the iPhone SE (2020) we will find a camera module straight from the iPhone XR / XS. If it would work in tandem with the Apple A13 Bionic processor, a cheap iPhone could provide better photos than the top phone from Cupertino from less than two years ago. However, this did not happen, as demonstrated by our initial test .

Of course, the iPhone SE from 2020 is not compatible with all components from the iPhone 8.

A certain surprise is the fact that the iPhone SE (2020) does not match the battery from iPhone 8. Although they have the same shape and similar capacity, the old one does not fit the new motherboard. Interestingly, however, you can physically connect to it a cell with other dimensions from the iPhone 11, although the phone will not turn on then.

It is also worth remembering that the fact that you can replace a subassembly in the iPhone SE (2020) with a part from the iPhone 8 does not mean that they are identical or that both will work the same. Unfortunately, in a moment when you buy a used copy of this phone there will be a risk that it received in the past components of inferior quality from the demobilization.

Before attempting to repair the iPhone SE, you must also remember a few traps.

In the case of the display, after installing the panel from the older screen in a new phone, you will not be able to use the True Tone function if the service technician does not have access to a special screen programmer. There is also nothing to count on easy replacement of the Home button with the Touch ID fingerprint scanner for security reasons.

As for the battery, even in the case of a replacement for one from another copy of the iPhone SE (2020), this year's Apple phone will display a prompt that this component is not original.
