Some say that this premiere did not make any sense. Others say it's one of Samsung's best moves for years. I spent several weeks with the Galaxy Note 10 Lite and say how it is.

For years, the Galaxy Note line has been synonymous with prestige, business, crème de la crème of the smartphone world and ... well, a prohibitive price.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 , the one without a plus, costs over 4000 PLN at the time of writing. Note 10+ is an expense of nearly 4,500 PLN. For many people, this is an insurmountable amount.

And here comes Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite, all on White red. A device that is supposed to offer the best in the Note line at a price that will not scare practically anyone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite costs PLN 2649. I checked how much Note was left for that price in the Note.

Let's start with what makes Note Note - with the S-Pen stylus. It is for him that consumers decide on the Samsung Galaxy Note series, instead of e.g. reaching for the Samsung Galaxy S series.

In Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite the stylus is and - like in the last two generations of the "big" Note - this is not a regular stylus.

In addition to the fact that the small feather supports 4096 pressure levels and provides a number of possibilities in the smartphone system (from notes, through sketching, to recording on extended screenshots), the S-Pen in Note 10 Lite is also equipped with Bluetooth connectivity.

This allows you to use it to trigger the camera shutter, change the used camera from rear to front, as well as to control music playback.

Relative to the "big" Note 10 there were only gestures to control the stylus in the air. So a function that probably no one has ever used.

Speaking of the pen, we can not fail to mention the screen.

This one has 6.7 ", 2400 x 1080 px resolution and is made in Super AMOLED technology, as one would expect from Samsung. And as you would expect from Samsung, the screen is beautiful.

I have no complaints about it - it is bright enough in the sun, dark enough at night and provides an excellent visual experience, regardless of what we do on it.

"Lite" does not mean "small". Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite has the size of a large Note 10+.

I will say more - the Galaxy Note 10 Lite, despite the screen smaller by 0.1 ", is in places ... larger than the" large "Note 10+.

Its dimensions are 163.7 x 76.1 x 8.6 mm and its weight is 199 g. As a reminder, Note 10+ measures 162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9 mm at 198 g.

There is nothing to cheat - Note 10 Lite is a great smartphone. Difficult to use with one hand, but at the same time ... surprisingly handy.

Merit in this primarily two factors - slightly rounded edges on the back and the lack of rounded edges of the screen.

Thanks to this, the phone is very securely in the hand, and we do not accidentally press the edges of the screen, because these are not excessively round.

I am also very pleased that the camera rim does not protrude above the housing at all. A very nice change against the background of ever larger and thicker modules.

The housing is also duly premium, although Samsung also cut some costs here. Although the frame is aluminum, the backs are made of plastic, as in the cheaper models A71 or A51. You can be disappointed, but in practice ... the difference is not overly noticeable. Unfortunately, plastic backs collect fingerprints as easily as glass ones ...

Similarly to the "big" Note 10, Lite is also available in extraordinary colors. The red "Aura Red" visible in the pictures is in my opinion the most beautiful of them and you would like the flagship Samsung to hit the market in this shade.

The design of Note 10 has three disadvantages and, in truth, these are the only major disadvantages that I found when dealing with this phone.

• Defect No. 1 - the housing is not waterproof. I understand cost cutting, but since OnePlus was able to secure its smartphones with appropriate seals (although without IP certification), Samsung can afford it even more.
• Disadvantage 2 - no stereo speakers. The current mono speaker sounds fine, but it's nothing compared to what even the most basic stereo speakers offer.
• Disadvantage # 3 - tragic, slow, inaccurate fingerprint reader under the screen. I estimate its effectiveness at about 20 percent. After three days I gave up and switched to a less secure but reliable unlocking with a face photo. I hope that Samsung will slightly improve its operation with an appropriate update, as was the case with the Galaxy S10.

Note is power. How much of this power is left in the Galaxy Note 10 Lite?

Galaxy Note smartphones usually represent the best in the world of smartphones. Powerful specification, every possible bajer, etc.

Note 10 Lite against the background of its "big" counterparts falls quite poor here, but in no case can it be said that it fell out insufficiently.

The heart of the phone is the Samsung Exynos 9810 processor, supported by 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of data memory. Specification more than enough for everything, but not as powerful as in the big Note 10.

In normal use, you don't feel any decrease in performance relative to the top model. Applications load quickly and only occasionally reload after leaving the program.

The only place where the specification is deficient is the camera application - although this may be due to underdeveloped software. When switching between cameras, the smartphone catches a clear breath of breath. While training in the gym, I also noticed that when I had Spotify turned on at the same time, the app with the training plan and streamed music via Bluetooth to headphones, taking a photo paused the music. I have encountered this behavior many times in smartphones with 4 GB of RAM, but for the first time I experienced this with 6 GB of RAM.

However, I repeat - it is possible that this is a matter to smooth out with an appropriate software update. Apart from the above problems, however, I have not encountered any manifestation of improper software behavior. Android 10 with the One UI overlay is exemplary and although I'm not a big fan of its neither unleavened nor minimalistic aesthetics (that's why I swapped One UI for Microsoft Launcher as soon as possible), I can't fault it from the quality of operation.

Well, except for one thing - the drainage of energy at rest.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite has, in theory, a large battery. 4500 mAh in combination with an energy-saving processor and a screen with a relatively low resolution should translate into a quiet two days of work.

Meanwhile, I have never been able to work on Note 10 Lite for two days without charging, because ... during the night he was able to lose up to 20 percent. Energy! I encountered the same error in the recently tested Galaxy A71, so I think that this is a matter to smooth out with the update.

At the time of writing this text, we can at most count for one day of work, but it is very intense with about 5-6 hours of screen turned on. Good result, but there is potential for more.

The camera evokes mixed feelings.

Samsung did not balance the open door and in Note 10 Lite it used a system known from other models of three 12 Mpix matrices, with three lenses: ultra-wide f / 2.2, wide f / 1.7 and tele f / 2.4.

In the front we will find a 32-megapixel selfie camera with a f / 2.2 lens.

In my eye, photos taken with Note 10 Lite do not leave much to be desired, but they also do not knock down. And for sure at this price you can buy a phone that takes better pictures - OnePlusa 7T for example. Or Xiaomi Mi Note 10 / Note 10 Pro .

During the day the results are ... fine. They are closer to mid-range Samsung than the top Galaxy, but they do not lack detail, saturation or dynamics.

The situation changes after dark, where the Galaxy Note 10 Lite produces at most average results.

Here, the previously mentioned Mi Note 10 eats it for breakfast, although Samsung has one ace up its sleeve - night mode, available for the main and ultra wide-angle lens.

In night mode, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite can extract details in the shadows from the stage and control the x-rays at the same time, creating a shot that looks more like taken at dusk than late at night.

However, taking a photo in the night mode takes a few seconds and requires a very stable hand, especially in an optical matrix with an ultrawide lens without optical stabilization. Without the night mode, the Note 10 Lite performs just like any other Samsung average.

The front camera, surprisingly, also loses in the clash with Xiaomi Mi Note 10, which offers a matrix with the same resolution.

And yet, in Samsung, the photos are somewhat less detailed, and the wrong balance of white is also offensive, turning slightly towards the green treasures.

Shots caught with the front camera are very good, but far from the front.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite is a good Note. But is an equally good smartphone?

If someone cares for an integrated stylus, a large screen and good working time (within one day) - Note 10 Lite is definitely worth PLN 2649, which Samsung wants for it.

Places where savings have been made are not conspicuous on a daily basis, and Note 10 Lite can still do much of what the "big" Note 10 can do.

Is it worth buying it instead of e.g. OnePlus 7T or Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro? Here everyone must answer for themselves.
