This was the Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro: the first waterproof smartphone of the firm that never saw the light
One of the negative points that virtually all Xiaomi smartphones have is their "zero" water resistance. And, although they mostly have P2i splash-repellent coating , they do not have an official certification that guarantees their impermeability.
To surprise, it seems that Xiaomi already had plans to launch a waterproof smparthone back in 2017, an alleged Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro that never saw light and that has now been shown on Weibo showing us its curious design.
As we can see in the images below, this Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro prototype has a curved screen design, thus differentiating itself from the Xiaomi Mi 6 that we all know. In addition, its combination of dual rear camera is arranged vertically and not horizontally as if it was added on the flagship of 2017.

In addition to these differences, this prototype was to become the first waterproof smartphone , with official IP certification, from Xiaomi. A feature that we have not yet seen in a mobile device of the firm and that was achieved leaving aside the physical buttons to incorporate virtual ones and thus completely seal its structure.
As far as specifications are concerned, this Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro incorporated a powerful, to date, Snapdragon 835 . Even so, according to the source, he finally did not see the light when his project was canceled because of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 that at that time incorporated not only a more striking design, but innovative.
