The new Apple monitor sounds like a wish concert. You can buy a stand for it separately
The monitor costs 6,000. down, but you need to buy a stand separately for another thousand greens.
The new Mac Pro is not the only new hardware at today's WWDC 2019 conference. The second powerful impact is the Pro Display XDR.
The Apple Pro Display XDR monitor is a glove thrown to reference studio monitors.
The new Apple monitor is a Retina 6K screen (6016 x 3384 pixels) with a diagonal of 32 inches. The panel supports the full gamut DCI-P3, displays 10-bit color and supports HDR in a really impressive range. The maximum brightness is 1000 rivets, in this case we are talking about the brightness of the screen illuminated in its entirety. The peak point brightness reaches 1600 rivets.
Not only brightness is supposed to be great, but also black. We are dealing with an LED panel, in which Apple used an advanced zone blanking system, like in modern televisions. The monitor offers, of course, a wide range of calibration possibilities that are to be compared with reference studio monitors.
Glass with nano-textured will take care of the lack of reflections.
What about the coating? Apple has used a matte finish, but the top version of the monitor approaches it in a more sophisticated way. Instead of the anti-glare layer, Apple used proprietary glass with a nano-texture full of protuberances, which is to diffuse the light without affecting the image parameters such as contrast.
On the back you will find four Thunderbolt 3 ports. The monitor connects to the new Mac Pro via a single cable. The next ones are needed to create a chain of monitors, the maximum resolution supported by the Mac Pro is 120 million pixels, which translates into six Pro Display XDR 6K monitors.
Also surprises the monitor bracket, which uses a complicated mechanism of movement associated with the solution known from Microsoft Studio. The stand will ensure smooth movements when applying the minimum force and the ability to pivot, that is, turn the screen to a vertical position
Prices? Wrong when compared to the information that the stand needs to be purchased separately.
Pro Display XDR costs $ 4999, and the version with nano-textured glass has been priced at $ 5999.
Note: the VESA mount and rack must be purchased separately! The stand was priced at only $ 999. All Apple!
