LG has just officially presented a new cheap smartphone. We have checked how K40 is presented live - the device referred to by the producer as "social friendly".

The LG K40 is the latest phone in the Korean company's offer. This is by no means a competitor of the top models from the LG G and LG V. This time the company decided to attack a device that can be purchased for PLN 1 in a cheap subscription or for PLN 799 in retail sales.

The phone's dimensions, which weighs 150 grams, are 153 mm (height) x 71.9 mm (width) x 8.3 mm (thickness). The plastic housing accommodates a 5.7-inch screen. However, this is not a frameless construction, and the LCD display occupies 76.2 percent. front. There was a thick frame below and below it.

After the official presentation I had the opportunity to spend a moment with the device. The smartphone, which is advertised as "social friendly" by such online celebrities as Julka Żugaj and rejigiusz, is a typical representative of the middle price range. It is not able to compete with the flagship models on the manufacturer's offer, but he has never been able to do it.

The producer, however, boasts that he has introduced a few solutions to this price shelf, which were available only for more expensive models, and which will be especially liked by young people active in social media. These are AI Cam algorithms, portrait mode for selfie photos, self-timer assistant and the shutter button in the fingerprint reader. There are more different photo modes for play.

A nice addition is a dedicated Google assistant button.

In addition, a few other details have been introduced in this model, such as a camera diode blinking to the rhythm of the music. The Eco Playback function will also be very useful and it will enable you to reduce the brightness of the screen without interrupting YouTube playback and blocking the reaction to accidentally pressing the screen, which saves you a bit of energy.

A bit outdated is the operating system (Android 8.1 Oreo, instead of Android 9.0 Pie), a fingerprint reader (mounted at the back, not under the screen) and a port for charging and data transfer (microUSB 2.0, not USB-C). The great news is also that the LG K40 has an NFC module.
