Surprise - Apple has just presented the new iPad mini

However, I do not have good news for people who have been waiting for this equipment. As indicated by the rumors , the iPad mini 5 in terms of design is basically no different from the predecessor. Only subassemblies have been improved.

Apple as the advantages of this device indicates a weight of 300 grams and only 6.1 mm thick. The device did not hit Face ID and is one of the last devices in the company's offer, in which the Touch ID fingerprint reader is used. There were also Lightning and minijack sockets.

The display on the new Apple tablet has a diagonal of 7.9-inch (2048 by 1536 pixels, 326 ppi). This is an LCD screen with True Tone support, i.e. dynamic white balance adjustment and P3 color coverage. A novelty in the iPad mini line is support for the first-generation Apple Pencil.

The heart of the iPad mini 5 is the Aion Bionic known from other Apple devices. Thanks to this, according to the manufacturer, it is to be up to three times faster than its predecessor. Also other components have been improved, including cameras that take pictures of 8 megapixels (back) and 7 megapixels (front).

The 5th generation iPad mini does not impress with the price.

The device in the basic version costs as much as 1899 PLN. I am talking about a tablet with a housing that remembers 2015 in a version with 64 GB internal memory and without an LTE module. That's more than you have to pay for a tablet with a 9.7-inch screen, the previous generation of which was priced at PLN 1,599. This model, however, did not live to a new version today.

The iPad mini (2019) prices with the wireless data transmission module are even more absurd. After its addition, the price increases to PLN 2499. In turn, increasing the storage capacity from 64 GB to 256 GB in the basic model is the need to pay PLN 2699 for the tablet. Selecting more space for data and the LTE module raises the price to PLN 3299.

Apple's first generation Pencil costs PLN 429 - that's 1/4 of the price of the new tablet in the basic version. On the one hand, it's good that the new equipment does not only support an even more expensive, newer stylus prepared for tablets from the Pro line for 2018, but on the other hand, Apple another year does not lower the price of the older or iota ...
