We already know almost everything about QLED TV sets for 2019. These are 8K and 4K TVs, including 8K Q900R with screen diagonal from 65 to 98 inches and 4K Q90R, Q80R, Q70R and Q60R, with diagonal from 43 to 82 inches. In total, the extended QLED range for 2019 includes more than 20 models and includes more TV models with very high diagonals.

The first major novelty in the models for 2019 is the technique that Samsung calls Ultra Viewing Angle. As the name suggests, it aims to provide the opportunity to watch TV sitting almost at any angle relative to the television, without losing perceived image quality.

As Samsung explains, this mechanism changes the structure of the TV panels, thanks to which the backlight passes through a panel with even lighting on the screen. In theory, this means that buying TVs with IPS matrixes - those from the upper shelf - has just lost its meaning. Ultra Viewing Angle is present in Q80R, Q85R, Q90R and Q950R TVs.

Samsung is well aware of the fact that many of its customers are people who buy its products mainly to connect them to Xbox or other PlayStation. Therefore, he tries to ensure that the Game Mode offered in TV sets provides the most benefits. And these may be interesting, because the technique of image reconstruction - about which Samsung first spoke on the occasion of the premiere of 8K TV sets - is to hit all this year's equipment from the QLED line.

This means that the TV, using artificial intelligence mechanisms trained by innumerable reference images, reconstructs the image in lower resolution to the native one for our TV, automatically complementing the missing details. I have not yet had the opportunity to test it in home conditions, but in theory it means that HD and Full HD content will look better on a 4K TV than with traditional image scaling.

Dolby Vision is still not supported by Samsung QLED.

I admire Samsung for the fight for independence with the only producer of TV OLED matrixes, and therefore LG Display. Unfortunately, I can not express the same in the fight for open image standards. As you probably recall, the open HDR10 + and free and proprietary Dolby Vision fight for the title of HDR10 successor.

Samsung is stubbornly promoting this open standard, which in itself is praiseworthy. However, as a result, it still refuses to support Dolby Vision, and it invariably dominates VoD and Blu-ray UHD. And although other HDR10 + promoters have already forgotten and use both formats in their TVs, still having QLED and a movie disc in Dolby Vision, we will watch the movie only in HDR10 format. Detriment.

The biggest novelty in the software? Previously announced service for Apple services.

QLED TVs for this year will enable the installation of the iTunes Movies application and will be compatible with the AirPlay 2 multimedia streaming format. We also enjoy the broadening of compliance with digital assistants: apart from inaccessible in Poland Bixbym under QLEDs, we can hook Alexa and premiere in Poland this year adapted for Google Assistant TVs.

Unfortunately, Samsung does not want to officially give prices to the Polish market. As he explains, partners are responsible for sales and he has no right to give them.
