xiaomi admits ads setting menu miui phones
Xiaomi recently acknowledged that he made revenue by placing ads in the mobile settings menu.
Many users recently objected to Xiaomi's new revenue-generating policy at the Red Hat Society; apparently, the Chinese giant appears to be the fourth largest smartphone maker in the mobile settings menu and earns revenue. One of the users of Reddit, with the release of a post, claims that the amount of ads inside the Xiaomi MIUI UI is increasing, he said that these ads are seen in the mobile application's mobile app and even the settings menu.
Following the release of the news, the Verge website contacted Xiaomi, and the company responded by issuing the following statement saying that these ads are only displayed on the MIUI-based mobile (and not on Android-based phones):
Advertising as a key component of Xiaomi's business policy has always been an integral part of our Internet services, and this trend will continue in the future. We have made it possible for our users to miss out on these ads to give users a better experience; Xiaomi is constantly trying to improve the approach to advertising by displaying them in the right place at the right time. Our philosophy is that ads should not create anxiety for the user.
Most people familiar with Xiaomi know that the company does not earn much revenue from selling its products at high prices; in fact, one of the main features of the Chinese company's products is their very good price. With that in mind, advertising by Xiaomi seems logical.
However, we should not forget that Xiaomi has bought the risk of harassing users and their reluctance to use their products. This company will pay hard if it fails to pursue its goal (providing ads that do not disturb them). A user who has objected to this issue claims to have turned off the option of advertising, but the advertisements are still showing up.
What is your opinion on this topic? Have you ever encountered such a case?
