The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8 have reached end of life status for quite a while, which means they will no longer receive software updates. However, it looks like the South Korean manufacturer has decided to offer another update for these devices.
Galaxy Club reports that both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8 will receive updates to improve GPS stability. More specifically, the update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge has the 31MB firmware version G93FXXU8EVG3. The update for the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus has the firmware version G95FXXUCDVG4 and is 420 MB in size.
Unfortunately, the update does not bring a new security patch. But it's still nice to see that Samsung is addressing issues with devices from 2016 and 2017.
GalaxyClub also claims that Samsung is working on a similar update for the Galaxy S6.
