Telegram: Paid premium subscriptions will start soon

Telegram seems to be about to introduce a premium subscription. The hint comes from a data string showing the wording of the splash screen when downloading and installing the Telegram app.

Right now it reads "Telegram is free forever. No Ads. No subscription fees.", but that text is replaced with "Telegram offers free, unlimited cloud storage for chats and media." This is a clear indication that a subscription-based plan is in the works and likely to roll out very soon.

There are also some hints about some of the exclusive features Telegram will offer to its paid accounts. In addition to a star badge appearing next to the name in chat lists, the app will give you access to exclusive stickers and reactions. The cost of the subscription is not yet known.
