After several years trying to work its way back up in a crowded smartphone market, Nokia has presented some promising results. In the first quarter of 2022, Nokia saw more growth in the North American and Western European markets.
According to a report by Strategy Analytics, Nokia saw 87 percent year-on-year growth in North America and 31 percent in Western Europe. However, the company still faces stiff competition in the Asia-Pacific region. According to the report, the company's C-series smartphones accounted for half of Nokia's smartphone sales in the first quarter of 2022.
In recent years, Nokia has shifted its focus primarily to making devices tailored to budget users, outfitting its current phones with entry-level hardware such as Qualcomm's 4-series Snapdragon chipsets for prices well below EUR 500, 00 off.
