With the 11T Pro, Xiaomi has launched a high-end smartphone that has surprisingly good technical features and doesn't cost a lot of money. In the area of charging speed, however, there is a prejudice that Xiaomi finally clears up.
Xiaomi 11T Pro: 120 watt charge hardly damages the battery
More and more smartphone manufacturers are installing more powerful fast charging functions in their devices. Xiaomi is one of the innovation drivers. The Xiaomi 11T Pro, introduced some time ago, charges from 0 to 100 percent in just a few minutes with the 120-watt fast charging function. Exactly this fast charging is supposed to massively damage the battery - at least that's what many think. Xiaomi has now explained to The Verge why this is not the case .
The Chinese manufacturer relies on several of its own technologies that extend the life of the 5,000 mAh battery in the Xiaomi 11T Pro. There are several safety mechanisms that do not overload the energy storage device during fast charging. The temperature plays a major role in this. If this is too high, the battery suffers particularly badly. Dual-cell technology is used to avoid this. With two charging points, more energy can be charged in the same time without the battery breaking a sweat. At the same time, there is a higher current over a longer period of time, which shortens the charging time.
Xiaomi says that the 5,000 mAh battery loses a maximum of 20 percent of its capacity after 800 charging cycles under maximum load with the 120 watt adapter. For comparison: Apple's iPhone charges considerably more slowly and is said to lose the same capacity in just 500 charging cycles. Normally, the performance loss in the life of the Xiaomi 11T Pro should hardly be noticeable, even if you use the 120-watt charging technology every day.

Xiaomi 11T Pro: A price-performance hit
The Xiaomi cell phone 11T Pro not only impresses with a large battery and fast charging technology, but also offers a great AMOLED display with 120 Hz, a fast Qualcomm processor, a 108 MP camera and gets four years of Android updates. All this at a really good price of less than 500 euros (see Amazon). Xiaomi really has a price-performance blast on offer here.
