Xiaomi smartphones have been receiving a stable MIUI 13 update based on Android 12 for months. The devices from the Xiaomi Pad 5 series, which received the update based on Android 11, are an exception. They were actually the first eligible devices to get the upgrade, but surprisingly, the Android 12 update was delayed.

Xiaomi has suspended the internal beta release for the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5, Mi Pad 5 Pro and Mi Pad 5 Pro tablets on February 7th, 2022. And now it seems the case that Xiaomi has postponed Android 12 for the Xiaomi Pad 5, Pad 5 Pro and Pad 5 Pro 5G.

According to the latest MIUI 13 V22.3.4 closed beta update release notes, a major problem has been encountered with the planned Android 12 update for the Xiaomi Pad 5, Pad 5 Pro and Pad 5 Pro 5G. It has to do with code refactoring on Android 12 for tablet, so the update seems to have been postponed.

Unfortunately, it has not been said when Android 12 can be expected for the Xiaomi Pad 5 series.
