It looks like Xiaomi is working on a successor to its MIX Fold foldable phone, which was unveiled in March last year. Dubbed the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, the phone is said to come with flagship hardware.

The main specifications of the phone have now been leaked. The foldable device aims to lessen the crease on the internal screen. There is a possibility that the Mi MIX Fold 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1+. This suggests that the device will launch in the second half of the year as the chipset is expected to launch in May 2022.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will have a 6.5″ exterior and 8″ interior display with a 120Hz refresh rate and DC dimming. The cover display will have a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Interestingly, the internal display is said to be an LTPO display and the "wrinkling will be slightly better" than its predecessor.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1+ chipset is said to be working inside, which will be based on TSMC's 4nm manufacturing platform. Previous leaks have indicated that the MIX Fold 2 will come with a 5,000mAh battery, a 2K AMOLED panel and a 108MP main camera on the back.

As for the launch schedule, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is likely to launch in the middle of this year. So far, however, there is no exact date or official notification from Xiaomi about this model.
