The NEX series smartphones have disappeared from Vivo's official website. This led to the assumption that the manufacturer decided to bury the NEX line. But that's not the case, but there are a few changes.
Vivo's vice president and general manager of brand strategy confirmed this suspicion. The company has indeed made the decision to end the NEX series. But the experiments and the search for new ideas are now continued within the framework of the new Vivo X line.
As part of the X series, the flagship Vivo X Note and the foldable Vivo X Fold are to be presented. The latter is already known to offer an 8″ QHD+ OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and a 6.5″ outer screen.
The device will be powered by a 4,600mAh battery with fast 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. There is said to be a quad camera on the back: 50 MP + 48 MP (wide-angle) + 12 MP (telephoto, 2x zoom) + 8 MP (periscope zoom, 5x optical zoom).
Vivo is also planning to launch a foldable smartphone. Already in April last year there were rumors about a foldable device in the company's plans.
Digital Chat Station shared some interesting information about Vivo X Fold on Weibo; the brand's first foldable device, which could debut this month alongside the rumored Vivo X Note - ex NEX 5. It is said to be a smartphone with a 6.5″ curved outer display with FullHD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate.
Inside there is a second screen, this time 8″ and higher resolution, QHD+. The fingerprint sensor (ultrasonic, it is said) will be installed in both displays. The refresh rate, on the other hand, remains unchanged at 120 Hz. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is said to be at work inside, 4,600 mAh battery with fast charging at 80 watts wired and 50 watts wireless.
On the back we find there a 50 MP main + 48 MP (probably ultra wide angle) + 12 MP telephoto with 2x zoom and 8 MP telephoto with 5x zoom.
