Price-performance hit for 200 euros: Motorola takes on Xiaomi

If you are looking for a cheap Android smartphone with a good price-performance ratio, take a look at Xiaomi first. Motorola wants to change that and is planning a real price-performance hit with the Moto G22, which is to be offered for less than 200 euros.

Xiaomi is rapidly launching new Android smartphones that not only appear under their own name, but also as Poco and Redmi models. All offer good to very good value for money to lure Samsung customers away. Motorola has already attacked Xiaomi in the high-end sector and now wants to do the same with the cheaper models. The equipment of the Moto G22 sounds pretty good, at least on paper. A 6.53-inch OLED display is said to be installed, which has a resolution of HD+ and works at 90 Hz. This is something special in the price range. The MediaTek Helio G37 is to be used as the processor, which has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. Smartphones from Motorola are hardly adapted from the Android interface, so you can expect good performance here. It should even be pre-installed with Android 12.

Other highlights of the Moto G22 include a 50 MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture. It should be able to take good photos and videos, although we shouldn't expect too much here. There is also an ultra wide angle with 8 MP. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and should ensure a very long runtime. It can be recharged with 10 watts.
