More expensive than the Galaxy S22: the price of the Xiaomi 12 surprises
While we are waiting for the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro to be launched in Germany, the first prices for the new top smartphones have appeared – and they are really surprising. If the information is correct, then Xiaomi will charge more for the 12 and 12 Pro than Samsung for the Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus.
Xiaomi 12 should cost at least 899 euros
While Samsung keeps the prices for the Galaxy S22 smartphones stable and does not increase them, Xiaomi will probably not. According to the latest information, the Xiaomi 12 will cost 899 euros in Europe (source: Pricebaba). That would not only be 100 euros more than for the Xiaomi Mi 11, but also 50 euros more than for the Galaxy S22 . The price of the Xiaomi 12 Pro is also very high. It starts at 1,099 euros. Again, Xiaomi would outperform Samsung. The Galaxy S22 Plus is offered for 1,049 euros.
It could also be more expensive if you want to double the memory. While Samsung charges 50 euros for this, Xiaomi usually charges 100 euros. At least that's how it was with the predecessor. With more memory, the Xiaomi 12 would even cost 100 euros more than the Galaxy S22 . The same would be the case with the Xiaomi 12 Pro and the Galaxy S22 Plus. As a reminder: In China, the Xiaomi 12 costs the equivalent of 530 euros. The Xiaomi 12 Pro comes to the equivalent of 675 euros.
The Xiaomi 12X will probably make the cheaper start . With the Snapdragon 870, this is more in the upper middle class and would probably cost a little less than the Galaxy S22. Provided that this model comes to Germany at all.
This is what the Xiaomi 12 Pro looks like:
Xiaomi 12: things will get serious in mid-March
As early as March 15, we will probably find out what the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will cost in Germany. The Chinese company is scheduled to present the show in Europe that day. If the prices are really that high, Xiaomi will have a hard time, at least in the high-end sector. Even the prices of the Xiaomi Mi 11 were too high for many customers.
