Mobvoi TicWatch GTH Pro presented

Mobvoi has announced a new smartwatch co-developed with CardieX, a global health technology company. The latest fitness tracker, the TicWatch GTH Pro, can measure the long-term health of a person's arteries.

Mobvoi claims to achieve this with its new Arty Heart Health analytics platform, which measures central arterial waveforms. Simply put, it measures the strength of the pulse to collect data on the user's heart health.

The TicWatch GTH Pro has two optical heart rate sensors. One of these sensors measures heart rate on the wrist, the other is on the side of the watch. The side-mounted sensor is designed to allow the user to place a finger on the sensor for daily readings, similar to an EKG smartwatch.

Based on the daily readings, the watch provides the user with an "Arty Score" that is representative of their overall heart health. The TicWatch GTH Pro uses four metrics to determine this value: physical capacity, estimated arterial age, heart load, and heart rate. Exercise capacity relates to blood flow to the heart, while arterial age is based on how "stiff" your arteries are. Cardiac stress, in turn, is based on pulse pressure.

The company says that with long-term use, the fitness tracker will make personalized recommendations based on the user's metrics, which can range from advice on getting more physical activity to getting more vitamin C in your diet.

In addition to monitoring 14 activities, SPO2 value and sleep monitoring, the GTH Pro can also continuously monitor skin temperature and respiratory rate. The device lasts around 7-10 days on a single charge and takes around two hours to fully charge. The device is also 5 ATM waterproof. The watch comes with a standard 20mm strap and is easily interchangeable.

The TicWatch GTH Pro comes in Graphite Black and is available now from Mobvoi.com and Amazon for $99. There is no German price yet.
