{Disarmed} Sony Xperia Ace 3 renders show small phone with 5.5-inch display [Video]
From time to time, Sony introduces a new Xperia Ace - a line of small phones that is exclusive to Japan. The original launched in 2019, followed by the Ace 2 in 2021. Now, a third version is coming - and thanks to @OnLeaks we're getting a first look at it.
The phone has a 5.5″ display and measures 139.7 x 68.7 x 9.1 mm. So it's not the smallest phone, but smaller than most Android smartphones available in the market.
There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top. The card slot is on the left side and it wouldn't be surprising if it also had a place for a microSD card - previous Ace models had expandable storage and so does the current Sony's. The fingerprint reader is on the other side.
The rest of the specs are less clear. The leak claims a Snapdragon 888, but that would be atypical for the series (the Xperia Ace had a Snapdragon 630, the Ace II a Helio P35). The claimed battery capacity of 4,500 mAh is possible, but a bit tight. The single camera on the back is said to have a 13 MP sensor.
The Sony Xperia Ace III is expected to launch in June, but Sony hasn't confirmed anything yet. The previous two Ace models were launched in partnership with NTT DoCoMo. This model will probably be available exclusively in Japan again.
