{Disarmed} I ve been using my Xiaomi phone for years and this is the best way to monitor mobile data usage I ve found
We live in a connected world. There is not a day that we get up and that we do not pick up our smartphone to know what has happened in the world while we slept, something that we do constantly throughout the day either at home or on the street to be able to consult information or access our different social media.
All this entails data consumption, either with the WiFi connection at home or with the mobile data rate that we have contracted, something that we must control if we do not want to have to pay an extra at the end of each month. Therefore, in this post I am going to show you how I have been able to control my monthly spending on my Xiaomi phone with a simple trick that the MIUI layer gives us.
How to control your mobile data rate on your Xiaomi phone
It is not the first time that we have told you about the MIUI Security application, a tremendously useful tool that we not only use to clean and improve the performance of our phone, but that we can even use to control our monthly spending on mobile data and avoid unnecessary shock.
In my case, I have been using Xiaomi smartphones for many years, and thanks to this tool I have managed to get my device to notify me when I am close to exceeding my monthly plan in terms of mobile data consumption, thanks to which I have avoided having to pay an extra on my bill at the end of the month.
The most interesting thing is that we will be able to completely configure its operation to our liking, and we can even set a personalized warning when the system detects that we are exceeding a certain percentage of mobile data usage, and can even automatically deactivate them so that they are no longer consumed.
To be able to configure it in detail , we only have to do the following:
- Open the Security app of your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO phone
- Once inside, scroll down and select the "Data Usage" option
- Then click on "Set mobile data usage limit"
In the next configuration screen, we will be able to establish a personalized monthly data limit (we recommend adding the data that you have contracted in your rate) and even establish a percentage of use so that the system simply displays a warning that we are close to exceeding it or including automatically turning off our mobile data.
