Apple headquarters evacuated: Unknown substance causes alarm

An unknown substance in Apple Park has caused the company's headquarters to be partially evacuated. What exactly was in a suspicious envelope could not be clarified immediately. The "powdery substance" was given the all clear a short time later.

Apple: Unidentified substance prompts evacuation

An incident has occurred at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California. According to reports, an unspecified "white powdery substance" was discovered in an envelope that employees could not identify. Parts of Apple Park were then evacuated for safety reasons. Emergency personnel were on their way.

The all-clear followed a short time later. Apple employees were then able to go back to their offices . What the substance consisted of has not been made public. According to the local fire department, it should not have been a toxic substance (Source: NBC Bay Area).

In the situation, Apple benefits from the fact that not all employees are currently in Apple Park. Due to the corona pandemic, many employees are still working from home . They should only temporarily return to their offices in April. From April 11, they are expected to be on site at least one day per week, and then for at least three days from May 23.
