Xiaomi 12 Ultra: Again new rumors about the possible flagship
The rumors about the Xiaomi 12 Ultra have been very contradictory so far. However, it seems that Xiaomi is preparing a phone that will be in the over the Xiaomi 12 Pro and a leak has now given a first glimpse of what to expect from the device.
It is not yet known if Xiaomi plans to launch a Xiaomi 12 Ultra this year. Current information suggests that the company will replace the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra with the Xiaomi MIX 5 Pro as its absolute flagship, but it also looks like a phone in the same vein as the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is on the way is.
Rumor has it that Xiaomi is actually planning to release the Xiaomi 12 Ultra later this year. It is likely that this device will be the previously announced "Xiaomi 12U", codenamed "L2s" internally, and will be positioned above the Xiaomi 12 Pro in the company's traditional flagship hierarchy.
According to reports, this phone will make its big debut in the second half of the year and will be sold at least in Europe. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra, or Xiaomi 12U, will be powered by a TSMC-manufactured version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, by all appearances it will be the SM8475 – likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. A 5x periscope lens is also to be expected.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra won't be cheap though as the source expects a starting price of 5,999 CNY. That's the equivalent of around $940, which means the phone could launch in Europe with a price tag of around €999.
