HMD Global, the manufacturer of Nokia cell phones, has removed almost all smartphones from the official shop. Currently only the two latest models Nokia G11 and G21 can be bought. What's going on?

HMD Global removes Nokia phones from store

If you just want to get an overview of the current smartphones from the Nokia brand, you shouldn't go to the official HMD Global online shop. The shop currently looks like it has been swept empty . The manufacturer has removed almost all smartphones (source: Nokia). Only the Nokia G11 and G21 mobile phones that have just been introduced can still be found. It is unclear whether these will disappear soon.

HMD Global has not communicated what prompted the company to take this drastic step. We asked the manufacturer and asked for a statement. So far no feedback has been received. As soon as this is available, we will submit it here in the article.

Since HMD Global has quietly removed almost all cell phones, one can only speculate about the motives . The escalated spring cleaning may have something to do with patent disputes in Germany. All Nokia models are listed as usual in the manufacturer's international online shop. Perhaps HMD Global is currently not allowed to offer or advertise many cell phones in Germany.

In other shops such as Amazon , the removed cell phones can still be found. It remains to be seen whether this will remain the case in the future.
