A well-known Weibo leaker reports that Vivo has certified its upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-based flagship for 2022. This device was supposed to be launched under the name Vivo NEX 5. But Vivo is said to have now chosen a different name – if only because of the smartphone's display size.

Vivo's hints about the resurgence of its flagship smartphone lineup in 2022 have led to speculation that the brand's next flagship device would be called the NEX 5. That's not the case, however, according to WHYLAB, as Vivo may have opted for a different name for its flagship instead.

Accordingly, the leaker claims that this device will instead be launched as the Vivo X Note. This would be more plausible given that the phone is said to launch with a relatively large 7″ AMOLED display. There is an E5 AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The dimensions of the device are said to be 168 x 76 x 9.2 mm and the weight is said to be 221 g. A quad camera consisting of a 50 MP main camera (Samsung S5KGN1), a 48 MP camera (Sony IMX596), a 12 MP camera (Sony IMX663) and an 8 MP camera (OVO8A10) with 5x zoom is said to be installed on the back .

However, there are also rumors that this name could only apply to the Chinese market, while the same device is launched elsewhere as the Vivo NEX 10 Pro. Whatever the name, the upcoming phone reportedly passed 3C testing as the Vivo V2170A and supports 80-watt charging of the 5,000 mAh battery.
