Samsung officially confirms the end of the Galaxy Note series, Galaxy S Ultra is said to continue the legacy
Samsung has officially announced the end of the Galaxy Note series. The signs have been pointing out for a long time that the newly introduced Galaxy S22 Ultra brought the best features of the Galaxy Note series with it.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of MWC 2022, Roh Tae-moon, head of Samsung Electronics Mobile Experience, announced that the Galaxy Note will come out as [Galaxy S] Ultra from now on. This means that the company will not release a new model of the Galaxy Note series. Instead, the Galaxy S Ultra range will continue the legacy of the range.
The Galaxy Note series is dead in name only, as its spirit lives on in the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
If you took the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and combined them (and cut off the massive camera bumps), the result would look very similar to the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
In recent years, Samsung has struggled to separate the Galaxy Note line from the Galaxy S line. That distinction was further blurred with last year's Galaxy S21 Ultra, which brought with it S Pen support. The new Galaxy S22 Ultra has all the bells and whistles that fans have come to expect from the iconic Galaxy Note range, including S Pen stylus support, a large display with curved edges, Air Command capabilities and more.
