Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will be released with a quad-curved display

Samsung could reportedly overhaul the design of its Ultra smartphone next year with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. According to Ice Universe, Samsung Display could mass-produce quad-curved displays. The switch to quad-curved displays would give the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra a different look than the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which relies on a dual-curved solution.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is not yet on the market. Samsung will unveil the entire Galaxy S22 series at its next Galaxy Unpacked event on February 9th. However, Ice Universe is already making predictions for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is likely to be released in early 2023. While the Galaxy S22 Ultra could be the spiritual successor to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Ice Universe claims Samsung could move away from that design language with next year's Ultra flagship.

On Twitter, the leaker speculates that Samsung could introduce quad-curved displays in the Galaxy S23 series, like Huawei introduced with the P40 Pro and P40 Pro+. Samsung Display Solutions, Samsung's LFD division, is said to be able to mass-produce such displays.

Samsung has moved away from curved displays in recent years. For example, the company has tended to use flatter curves than it did with the Galaxy S7 Edge a few years ago. Instead, Samsung Display continues to pioneer foldable display technology.
