Nokia G21 presented
HMD launched the Nokia G20 in June last year. It wasn't the most impressive budget phone of 2021, but it has found plenty of buyers. Now the company has introduced the Nokia G21.
The new Nokia G21 comes with a major chipset upgrade, leading from the Helio G35 to the Unisoc T606. This 4G Unisoc chipset features an octa-core CPU (two Cortex-A75 and six Cortex-A55) and a Mali-G57 MP1 GPU.
The Nokia G21 keeps the 6.5″ HD+ LCD panel of the previous model, but the refresh rate increases from 60 Hz to 90 Hz. In addition, the phone's charging speed has been increased and is now 18 watts instead of 10 watts.
In the camera category, the Nokia G21 swaps the 48 MP main camera of its predecessor for a 50 MP sensor. However, the G20's 5MP ultra-wide camera has now been dropped entirely, meaning that all that's left is the main camera and a pair of 2MP sensors.
Otherwise, the new phone comes with a 5,050 mAh battery, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Android 11 and a 3.5mm connector. Android 11 is disappointing as Android 12 has been out for months and the first Android 13 developer preview is ready. Android 12 will follow soon as an update.
The Nokia G21 will be available in Dusk and Nordic Blue color variants.
