The size of the February 2022 Android update for the Pixel 6 was so small that we hoped nothing would break and that this would be one of the first months without major problems for this phone. Those hopes were quickly dashed when some Pixel 6 owners started complaining about a WiFi bug where they could see their WiFi shutting down constantly.
Google confirmed the bug today and said a fix is on the way. In a thread on reddit that picked up steam shortly after the update, the PixelCommunity account thanked users for reporting the bug and said it should be fixed with the next Google Pixel update in March 2022.
Fortunately, the bug only affected "a very small number of devices," as the post states. Google apparently recognized that this bug offered a "poor experience" and immediately developed a software fix for it.
For those affected by this WiFi bug since early February, I have good news. You've made it this far and now you only have to wait two weeks. The March Android update was scheduled for release on March 7th.
