Google cell phone in a feel-good subscription: Pixel Pass is coming to Europe
Of course, what Apple can do, Google can do too: Just like with Apple One, Google wants to bring its version of the premium subscription to Europe. The Pixel Pass includes some Google services that are bundled with the Pixel 6 (Pro) - including minor fixes.
Google: Pixel Pass is coming to Europe
Together with the Pixel 6 (Pro), Google announced the Pixel Pass in October 2021 - albeit only for American customers for the time being. Now there are indications that Google also wants to offer the subscription service in Europe (source: LetsGoDigital). A new entry of the group at the European Patent Office does not allow any other conclusion. However, Google has not yet officially announced the move.
It can be assumed that the offer will be similar to that in the USA. The Pixel Pass is available there in two different versions, which are based on the desired cell phone. The Pixel 6 is available for $45 a month and the Pixel 6 Pro for $55. There are also various services and guarantees.
This includes access to premium services from Google. Among other things, there is YouTube Premium and the Google Play Pass. There is also 200 GB of cloud storage with Google One. However, the free minor repairs and replacement cell phones are likely to be even more important for some interested parties. In addition, customers can opt for a new Pixel smartphone every two years via the Pixel Pass.
Even without a Pixel Pass, the Google Pixel 6 already makes a good impression:
Pixel Pass in Europe: Announcement at I/O Conference?
Google may be waiting until this year's I/O conference to announce the Pixel Pass launch outside of the US . The Google I/O is expected to take place in May. There is no information available about the planned prices in Germany. The US prices mentioned can certainly serve as a guide.
